About the Speaker
Uday Pathania, popularly known as Udayveer Pathania, is a fearless independent journalist and youth activist from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, who has been consistently amplifying grassroots voices and public concerns through independent digital media.
As the Managing Director of Black & White Broadcasters, he has established the platform as a credible regional voice focused on government accountability, unemployment, youth migration, rural development and socio-economic issues affecting Himachal Pradesh. His journalism is rooted in the belief that local stories deserve local voices, and he frequently engages with communities in Pahari dialects, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the state's rich linguistic heritage.
A strong advocate for press freedom and independent journalism, Uday has actively supported the rights and safety of journalists in Himachal Pradesh, participating in and leading initiatives alongside members of the media fraternity to uphold the principles of a free and independent press.
Beyond reporting, he has built a reputation for facilitating meaningful conversations between policymakers, subject experts and citizens on issues relating to regional identity, employment generation, governance and public policy. Through his ground-level reporting and public engagement, he continues to encourage informed dialogue on the opportunities and challenges facing Himachal Pradesh.
